Video postcard from Saturday’s paddle. Pretty sure I’m now on a DHS government watch list since I went through the security checkpoint twice in one day.
Yesterday. Good day.
OF SOULS + WATER: THE SHAPESHIFTER
The third episode of that work-sponsored video project I’m tangentially associated with launched the other day, and it’s going bonkers in terms of view counts. Unlike the first two, this episode is more about eye candy and being tongue-in-cheek, and less about storytelling.
But my kids thought he was paddling in lava, so there’s that.
For Family Night last night, I loaded up a borrowed SUP board from work and trucked the Maxfield crew up to a local reservoir. Everyone got a turn (or two), plus the kids got in some swimming and rescue throw bag practice. Good times.
OF SOULS + WATER: THE TEASER
This is a NRS project I’m tangentially associated with (well, maybe not after tomorrow—I screwed up big with its release schedule today), but job or no job, this whole video series is shaping up to be pretty sweet.
It’s a break from the usual gratuity of paddle sports videos, and instead is meant to tell the stories of five different people with the common thread being water.
Do me a solid (and help me save my job)? Reblog and/or pass this video around to others who might find it interesting. Much obliged.
A quickly cut edit from yesterday’s SUP adventure (which, I should point out, was my first time on a SUP—so, you know, moving water was just logical). Many thanks to my intrepid co-workers Darren K. and Josh G. for allowing me to be the day’s anchor.

Day off. In January. All as it should be.
First Amber wants one, then the rest decide they need one. I’m going to need a bigger boat.
If anyone’s curious, Amber would like one of these for a birthday/holiday/just-because gift.
That’s my girl!
Updated: Now that Elle has seen this photo, she’s demanding one, too. Goodness. :)
