I just went through a stack of job applications (for a job position that won’t be filled, but that’s another story entirely) and learned something interesting: your handwriting sucks. Yes, you.
People, if you really want me to take your application seriously, you’re going to find a way to type on top of the preexisting forms. It’s just that simple.
And it sure wouldn’t hurt to, you know, actually include the requested ancillary information (read: cover letter, resume, portfolio). What? Perhaps it didn’t explicitly indicate that’d be a good idea (this is government, after all)? Shoehorn it in there somewhere anyway.
Just sayin’.
